Something about me

I am a very hands-on active girl who is not afraid of getting my hands dirty. I love animals a lot and helping them. No ribbons and bows for me. If we had a backyard, I'd probably be swinging from tree to tree. My mum calls me "Pippi Longstocking"! This is why I chose Volleyball as my CCA; it is fast-paced and packed with adrenaline!

My Little Bit Of Adrenaline Rush

I love sports and the outdoors! I participated in events like The Spartan Race and the Singapore Duathlon, where I came in second in my age group when I was 13.
My time with the SJC Volleyball Team was one of the most memorable and moving for me. My coach's and VB teachers' support, especially this year when I was at my lowest, has inspired me to shoulder on.
If you asked what the most precious memory is, I would take away from my secondary years; it's my time with my volleyball team!

My First Love

I was three when a tiny pigeon was hit and left on the street. Hours passed, but my sadness did not end. Instead, all I could recall was I kept urging my mom to return to the site so that we can carry the bird and look for his parents, whom I felt must be frantically looking for their squeak.
When we got back, and the squeak was nowhere in sight, it broke my heart, and I couldn't sleep for days.
I started volunteering to care for dogs at 12 years old. With the mandatory 16 years limit with most organisations, I was delighted that Exclusively Mongrels took me in. I am an active volunteer with them, and I have learnt so much from the leaders, like empathy and patience, and the importance of educating everyone that strays may not be as harmful as perceived.
I love baking and cooking, so I use this to help organisations like SOSD or vet clinics to raise funds. I am happy when I bake for the dogs, and I channel all proceeds to their cause. My most significant takeback is that the animals they care for have enough funds to go on.
Occasionally, I also accompany my tutor to feed strays.

I also have fur babies of my own, Bonzo; a Singapore Special rescued from Jurong Island and Doris, which I sponsor in Thailand under Soi Dog Foundation.
